Paisley Gold Granite

An in-frame Shaker kitchen in Betchworth, Surrey – very near us at our Charlwood workshop. The kitchen features soft curves, an induction hob on the island with slot-type extractor and an Astracast Lincoln white ceramic sink. The stone is Paisley Gold Granite. This wild natural stone is one of many very striking materials which come to the British market from Brazil. We do not know a great deal about the specifics of its geology, but are sure that it’s multi-coloured, richly veined pattern puts it amongst the most forgiving of natural stones you can use as a kitchen worktop. Re-sealing may be technically recommended but, in our view, is unlikely to be critical with this lovely stone. As it happens, the specially bought slabs of Paisley Gold were insufficient to also create a windowsill, as the customer wanted. However, the choice of a black window frame made a Nero Assoluto Granite windowsill a very obvious choice, and possibly better in holding all the themes together than a Paisley Gold sill.
