Boiling water taps:
Practicality and aesthetics hand in hand!
At AG Stoneworks we strongly believe that kitchens should be practical as well as beautiful and we know that it is possible to have both.
One innovation which has grown in popularity in recent years is the boiling water tap. More efficient than boiling a kettle, boiling water taps are a time-saver when making a quick cup of tea or coffee, or for cooking and cleaning. As the popularity of the boiling water tap has increased, so has the number of options and choice of finishes. We have found black and patinated-brass finishes becoming as popular as stainless steel as designers coordinate kitchen hardware with their taps.
Boiling water taps can be installed in granite or quartz worktops or through a topmounted sink in the same way as any other tap. You do need to think about the tank, though – both the type required and its location within the base unit of the kitchen.
The other point to note is the minimum water pressure that is required. Market leaders Quooker require a minimum of 2 bar in the system and you need to be confident of that before going ahead.
Known for innovation, for quality and design, Quooker taps offer instant truly boiling water from the Pro 3 , Pro 7 and Combi tanks. For most domestic kitchens a Pro 3 tank is more than sufficient but in commercial kitchen applications, a 7 litre tank may be preferable. We have the Combi in our office as it offers a standard hot feed as well as boiling water.
In addition to these tanks, Quooker also offer their CUBE system. This system provides filtered, chilled, still and sparkling water – all from your tap, instantaneously! CUBE also includes high spec water filters. A CO₂ cylinder is installed in the cabinet alongside your choice of the other tanks, giving you 60 litres of sparkling water between charges. If you love filtered water or a sparkling water drink, this is an amazing accessory for your kitchen!
Most qualified plumbers can install the Quooker and CUBE systems, but Quooker also offer their own installation service which can be added to the order.
